Job description

We are looking for a Tooling & Equipment Engineer to lead the development, validation, and launch of tooling and manufacturing equipment, ensuring quality, cost, and timing targets are met from concept to SOP.

Main Responsibilities
  • Define specifications for tools, equipment, and related processes within project scope.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to align technical requirements and validate proposed solutions.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment comply with standards, documenting any necessary deviations.
  • Develop and maintain timing plans to ensure on‑time delivery and smooth industrialization.
  • Support the technical evaluation during supplier selection and RFQ processes.
  • Lead tool and equipment kick‑off, validation trials, and acceptance at supplier and plant levels.
  • Coordinate trials under near‑production conditions, track performance (cycle time, scrap rate, dimensional quality), and drive convergence to targets.
  • Manage tool and equipment transfer to the plant, ensuring proper documentation and installation readiness.
  • Support production teams during start‑up phases to optimize process parameters and achieve stable serial production.
  • Capitalize lessons learned, contribute to standard updates, and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to achieve Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives for each program phase.
  • Travel as needed to support production launches and supplier trials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or significant professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in specific domain or tooling manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive sector.
  • Knowledge in project management process.
  • Knowledge of 7 Quality Basics.
  • Result‑oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment.
  • English required, and customer’s language strongly encouraged.
