Job summary

A leading manufacturer of iron castings is seeking a Tooling Engineer to manage tooling engineering and oversee layout and pattern shop in a foundry setting. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, advanced knowledge of VMM tooling, and experience with CAD and production processes. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four year college or university; or three + years related experience and or training.
• Advanced knowledge of relationship between VMM tooling, core tooling, core fit in mold.
• Experience with CAD, pattern shop, layout, engineering.

Responsibilities

• Manage tooling engineering, layout and pattern shop in a foundry setting.
• Work with tooling engineers and set expectations for tooling quotes and builds.
• Work with customers to meet tooling and casting dimensional requirements.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of VMM tooling

Experience with CAD

Familiarity with Magmasoft

Education

Manage tooling engineering, layout and pattern shop in a foundry setting.

RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:

• Work with tooling engineers and set expectations for tooling quotes and builds
• Work with layout and set expectations for dimensional verification and corrections
• Work with customers to meet tooling and casting dimensional requirements
• Work with production personnel to provide tooling that meets plant needs

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four year college or university; or three + years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Advanced knowledge of relationship between VMM (Vertical Molding Machine) tooling, core tooling, core fit in mold etc
• Experience with CAD, pattern shop, layout, engineering, as well as knowledge of Magmasoft
