Job summary

US Tool Group seeks a skilled machinist/tooling specialist to support aerospace, defense and automotive customers. The role is on-site at a major automotive facility in Sharonville, OH, with responsibilities including tooling release, basic inspection, and collaboration with engineers to optimize tooling and processes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of machining experience, strong understanding of cutting tools, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of machining experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of cutting tools and cutting tool applications.
• Experience with data analysis and interpretation of complex prints/models.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tooling released to production meets customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspection of tooling.
• Assist with tooling performance checks.
• Collaborate with engineers to determine tooling needs.
• Troubleshoot product application issues.
• Support new product applications.
• Improve processes and tooling configurations as needed.
• Suggest changes to tooling and machining processes.

We are a family-owned business that supplies cutting tools, abrasives, and other manufacturing supplies to aerospace, defense and automotive customers.Founded in 1958, we are the largest cutting tool reconditioning firm in North America.We are committed to providing quality products and outstanding service, supported by the uncompromising dedication of our employees. This position will be based on-site at one of our major automotive manufacturing customers' facilities. Openings are currently available in Sharonville, OH.

If you have

• At least 3 years of machining experience
• High temp alloy machining a plus
• Must have strong technical knowledge of cutting tools and cutting tool applications
• Process improvement experience
• Knowledge of cutting tool geometry
• Knowledge of cutting tool manufacturers
• Knowledge of the aerospace market a plus
• Strong mathematical skills
• Experience with multi-axis machine tool programing a plus
• Ability to interpret complex prints and models
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision
• Data analysis
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation

A typical day may look like this

• Ensure all tooling released to production meets customer’s requirements
• Routine, basic inspection of tooling
• Assist with tooling performance checks
• Works with engineers to determine tooling needs
• Troubleshooting of issues relating to product application
• Application support of new products
• Improve existing processes and applications by reviewing objectives and specifications
• Recommend changes and make modifications to tooling, applications and processes of machining as needed

Continuous search for cost savings and productivity improvements.
