Job summary

Feufo is seeking a Tooling Engineer with 3–5+ years of experience to design large-scale, safety-critical tooling for solid rocket motor production in a fast-growing hypersonics company. You will move and process thousands of pounds of energetic materials, developing safe, reliable solutions for handling and processing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale tooling, including jigs, fixtures, molds, and handling assemblies for processing large batches of energetic materials.
• Engineer solutions for temperature control and safe material handling between facilities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and production teams to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Lead tooling projects end-to-end from concept through production-floor implementation with validation and DFM.
• Mentor junior tooling engineers and technicians while ensuring compliance with aerospace/defense standards.

You’ll be responsible for developing safe, reliable solutions for moving, handling, and processing thousands of pounds of energetic materials. This is a high-stakes, hands‑on role where strong engineering fundamentals and experience working at scale with hazardous materials will directly support next‑generation defense production.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Tooling Engineer with 3–5+ years of experience to design and develop large-scale, safety‑critical tooling for solid rocket motor production at a fast-growing hypersonics company. You’ll be responsible for developing safe, reliable solutions for moving, handling, and processing thousands of pounds of energetic materials. This is a high‑stakes, hands‑on role where strong engineering fundamentals and experience working at scale with hazardous materials will directly support next‑generation defense production.

What will you be doing?

• Design and develop large-scale tooling, including jigs, fixtures, molds, and handling assemblies, for safely moving and processing 600+ gallon, 2,000+ lb batches of ammonium perchlorate and aluminum oxidizer precursor chemicals.
• Engineer solutions for temperature control, material movement between facilities, and safe breakdown of energetic materials into smaller quantities for solid rocket motor casting.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturing, design, and production teams to develop tooling that meets aggressive cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Lead tooling projects end-to-end, from concept development through production‑floor implementation, including FEA validation, tolerance stack‑ups, and DFM.
• Mentor junior tooling engineers and technicians while ensuring compliance with aerospace and defense industry standards.
