Landscape Structures Inc. in Delano, MN is seeking a Tooling Designer to develop tooling from concept through production. You will design jigs, fixtures, and machines to aid in manufacture and verification, partnering with Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical design or a related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience in tooling and fixture development and design.
• Experience in machine build development and design.
• Experience designing robotic weld fixtures.
• 5+ years of CAD design experience.
• Able to read and work from conceptual drawings, sketches, and layout drawings.
• Clear communication skills to understand internal customers and present to managers.

Responsabilités

• Design jigs, fixtures, and machines to help manufacture or verify products.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering from concept to production/testing.
• Create detail drawings for internal and external manufacture.
• Apply lean methods to reduce lead time and cost while maintaining quality.
• Design robotic weld fixtures and machine builds to support production and custom work.
• Troubleshoot fixture issues on the shop floor and adjust designs as needed.
• Train staff on new jigs, fixtures, and machines for safe, efficient work.
• Lend technical support to tooling staff on design and assembly.
