Job summary

Pratt Industries Tulsa is seeking a Tooling Coordinator for 1st shift. You will manage tooling for production, inspect dies and plates, and ensure tools are ready for scheduled jobs. Heavy emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining tooling records, coordinating repairs, and assisting operators. Requires basic math, reading instructions, and forklift familiarity; lifting up to 50–100 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in tooling or manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail in inspecting and handling tooling.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, use measuring tools, and apply basic math.
  • Forklift certification may be required.

  • Safety & Compliance: handle, store, and maintain tooling to prevent hazards.
  • Quality Assurance: inspect dies and plates for damage and wear; report repairs.
  • Operational Efficiency: verify tooling availability at machines and log tooling numbers.
  • Training & Development: maintain tooling records and assist with CAD/documentation.
  • Reporting & Maintenance: notify supervisors about tooling repairs and track inventory.

Tooling Coordinator - 1st Shift

Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday 5:00AM – 1:00PM

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.

As a Tooling Coordinator at Pratt Industries - Tulsa, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and organizing tooling for production machinery. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, staging, and storing cutting dies and print plates, ensuring all necessary tools are available for scheduled jobs, and coordinating tooling repairs or replacements. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with quality standards.

Key Duties and Success Factors
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all tooling and equipment are properly handled, stored, and maintained to prevent workplace hazards. Follow all safety protocols when lifting or moving heavy dies and plates.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect all dies and plates for damage or wear, ensuring only quality tooling is used in production. Document and report any repairs or replacements needed.
  • Operational Efficiency: Conduct scheduled walkthroughs to verify tooling availability at machines, remove unused tools, and organize storage locations. Assign and log tooling numbers for easy tracking.
  • Training & Development: Maintain accurate records of tooling assignments and updates. Assist with scanning and documenting print cards and CADs in the system when applicable.
  • Reporting & Maintenance: Notify supervisors and relevant departments about tooling repairs or modifications, ensuring smooth production operations. Maintain die spreadsheets and track inventory.
  • Flexibility & Teamwork: Collaborate with supervisors, machine operators, and other team members to ensure tooling readiness. Assist in lifting and moving heavier tools as needed.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
  • Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience in tooling or manufacturing preferred.
  • 6 Months’ experience as a Press and Finishing Department
  • 6 Months’ experience in the Die Cutter or Flexo Operator
  • Material Handling: Ability to lift and move heavy dies and plates (up to 50 lbs regularly, up to 100 lbs occasionally). Forklift certification may be required.
  • Quality Control: Strong attention to detail in inspecting and handling tooling.
  • Production Monitoring: Ability to track and document tooling inventory accurately.
  • Skills: Must be able to read and follow written instructions, use measuring tools, and apply basic math for measurements and calculations.
  • Physical Requirements: Regular standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting. Must have good vision, including depth perception and color recognition.
  • Certifications: May require a Lift Truck Operator License.
  • Work Environment: Exposure to moving machinery, loud noise, airborne particles, and varying temperatures. May require working at heights or in humid conditions.
