Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Tool Room Attendant to support our RCOH department in Newport News. You will control, issue, receive, and maintain tools and equipment used across manufacturing and maintenance operations.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You will ensure proper inventory, safety compliance, and coordinate tool orders with purchasing and vendors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 0 years experience.
• Candidate must have a minimum experience working in a tool room, warehouse, or inventory control environment.
• Candidate must have familiarity with industrial or mechanical tools and equipment.
• Candidate must have basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software, ERP systems, etc.).
• Candidate must have a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Candidate must have the ability to lift and move heavy items (typically up to 50 lbs).
• Candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive tools, equipment, and materials to and from employees.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all tools and supplies.
• Inspect tools and equipment for damage or wear; arrange for repair or replacement when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure tool room.
• Track tool usage and forecast supply needs.
• Utilize computer systems for tool inventory tracking and record-keeping.
• Ensure tools are calibrated and comply with safety standards.
• Coordinate with purchasing or vendors for tool orders and deliveries.
• Maintain documentation for issued/lost tools and maintenance records.
• Assist with periodic inventory audits.
• Comply with safety and company policies at all times.
