As a global leader in fluid-handling solutions, the mission of OPW is to be a developer of a comprehensive array of innovative fluid-handling solutions that our customers can consistently and reliably count on. These include loading and unloading systems for high-value hazardous and non-hazardous bulk products; railcar and transport tank-truck valves, gauging devices and tank-monitoring systems; automated storage-terminal controls and systems; and regulators, fittings, valves, vaporizers, vacuum-jacketed piping and gas-handling systems for the safe handling and distribution of cryogenics and industrial gases. OPW has more than 2,000 employees with manufacturing operations in North America, Europe and China, and sales offices around the world. OPW is part of the Clean Energy & Fueling segment of Dover (NYSE: DOV).

This role is based in our Whitsett manufacturing facility and has a base schedule of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and requires ability to work overtime as needed.

What You'll Do:

The Tool Room Tech supports machining operations by ensuring CNC operators and technicians have the correct tooling and related components needed to complete production orders. This position serves as the primary point of contact for tooling requests, identifies and issues required tooling, prepares tooling kits for upcoming production orders, and maintains accurate tool room inventory and organization. The Tool Room Tech works closely with CNC operators, technicians, Toolmakers, Engineering, and Production to help ensure tooling is available when needed and minimize production downtime. This role supports the management and distribution of tooling and does not manufacture tools.

How You'll Do It:

Assist CNC operators and technicians with tooling requests by gathering the information necessary to determine specific tooling needs. Identify, locate, pull, and issue the correct tooling and components to support machining operations. Prepare and stage complete tooling kits for new and upcoming production orders. Use Cribware and MRP systems to identify tooling requirements, verify availability, issue and return tooling, and maintain accurate inventory records. Maintain appropriate tooling inventory levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs. Receive returned tooling, break down kits, clean tooling as required, and return reusable items to designated storage locations. Maintain accurate tool room organization to ensure tooling can be quickly located and issued. Follow established procedures for damaged or broken tooling, including escalation to Toolmakers, Engineering, or other appropriate resources. Sharpen taps, drills, thread chasers, dovetail tools, and similar tooling as trained and required. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all applicable safety procedures. Partner with Production, Toolmakers, and Engineering to address tooling needs and support efficient manufacturing operations. Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Role:

Required High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and manufacturing systems. Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Previous experience in a manufacturing, machining, warehouse, inventory, parts room, or tool crib environment. Familiarity with CNC machining terminology, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Experience using inventory management or MRP systems.
