Job summary

MiTek is seeking a Machinist to work in the Tool Room in Largo, assisting in machining parts from blueprints. Job Description

Works in Tool Room assisting in machining of parts from blueprint/sketch, works with tooling as required in teardown, repair, and assembly. This position is temporarily in Largo but will be located in Zephy Hills in the near future. You must be able to work in both locations until we move to Zephy Hills.

Responsibilities

• Machining of new parts and repair of used parts to original specifications.


• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.


• Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.


• Maintains die maintenance records as required.


• Attends work during the regularly scheduled shift, including overtime, arriving on time and being ready to work at the start of the shift.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.


• National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) required.


• 5+ years experience in machining, stamping dies required.


• Knowledge in use of all machine tools and measuring instruments.


• Journeyman machinist upon hire preferred.

Soft Skills

• Basic knowledge of tooling nomenclature.


• Ability to use equipment and apply measuring skills.


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


• Strong attention to detail.

Physical Demands

This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs and crouch. The position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
