Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Toolroom Attendant to support HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members and senior leaders. The role emphasizes strict tool accountability, calibration management, and adherence to safety and security protocols.

You'll work with T.O.s, TMDE, and support equipment, performing routine maintenance and ensuring readiness across shifts, including nights and weekends as needed. Amentum offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of SBSS, repair cycle system, and basic aircraft components.
  • Minimum of one-year recent MIS/SBSS interface experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • May occasionally handle items weighing over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, stock, control, and inventory tools, T.O.s, and support equipment.
  • Issue tools, T.O.s, TMDE, and support equipment and maintain accountability.
  • Perform preventative and minor maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are clean, oiled, and serviceable.
  • Manage calibration schedules for TMDE and remove overdue items from service.
  • Carry out Equipment Custodian duties and CA/CRL.
  • Escort duties and building custodian tasks including snow removal.
  • Document debrief data in MIS and communicate to involved teams.

Job description

The Toolroom Attendant is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Receives, stocks, controls, and inventories tools, Technical Orders (T.O.’s) and support equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Issues tools, T.O’s, test equipment, test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) and support equipment from the tool room and maintains strict accountability.
  • Performs preventative and minor maintenance on tools and support equipment.
  • Ensures tools and support equipment is clean, oiled, and serviceable.
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment for quick inventory.
  • Controls calibration schedules for TMDE and ensures overdue calibration items are removed from service and sent for testing.
  • Performs Equipment Custodian duties and manages the Custodian Authorization/Custody Receipt Listing (CA/CRL).
  • Performs duties as building custodian to include Escort duties, Zamboni operator.
  • Assists Safety representative in snow removal.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times.
  • May perform other duties related to the classification as assigned to include temporary duty and travel. Must be able to work day shift, swing shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift as required.
  • Receives CUT training and is qualified to perform maintenance tasks associated within classification.
  • Facilitates debrief of assigned aircraft and documents debrief data to aircraft and debrief forms.
  • Enters aircraft discrepancies into Maintenance Information System (MIS).
  • Communicates debrief information to Plans and Scheduling, MOCC, and SAM 4.
  • Performs input data corrections of aircraft debrief information through MIS.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), repair cycle system and basic aircraft/ engine components are required.
  • Must have knowledge of procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Minimum of one-year recent experience working with MIS/SBSS interface or related computer experience is required.
  • May occasionally handle items that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance: Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of applicable Government documents, directives, and technical orders is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fed Log system is preferred.
