Job summary

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is seeking a reliable Tools and Parts Attendant to manage inventory, equipment, and the supply crib at our Goldsboro, NC facility. You will oversee hand tools, machine tools, dies, and replacement parts, ensuring technicians have fully operational gear and precise inventory records.

The role requires DoD clearance eligibility, tool crib experience, and the ability to inspect equipment with precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance to access airfield and military installation.
• Proven experience in a tool crib, parts department, or industrial supply environment.
• Ability to visually inspect equipment using micrometers/calipers to detect wear or damage.
• Strong organizational skills with good inventory/logbook maintenance.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/unpack heavy parts and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive hand tools, machine tools, and equipment; maintain real-time records of items checked out/returned.
• Conduct periodic/perpetual inventory counts and requisition replacements as needed.
• Search and track to locate lost tools and components.
• Unpack, verify, and store incoming equipment per facility layout.
• Visually inspect returned tools for wear; report damaged items.
• Apply protective coatings and attach identification to tools.

The Position:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Tools and Parts Attendant to manage our industrial facility’s inventory, equipment, and supply crib. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies, and precision measuring devices. You will ensure that technicians have the exact, fully operational equipment they need while maintaining flawless tracking and inventory records.

Responsibilities:

• Issue and receive hand tools, machine tools, and equipment; maintain real-time, accurate records of all items checked out to and returned by workers.
• Conduct periodic and perpetual inventory counts; proactively identify low stock levels and requisition replacement parts and shop supplies as needed.
• Perform routine searches and tracking procedures to locate lost or misplaced tools and components.
• Unpack, verify, and properly store incoming new equipment, tools, and replacement parts according to facility layout.
• Visually inspect returned tools for wear or defects; use precision instruments like micrometers to measure for wear and immediately report damaged or worn-out equipment to supervisors.
• Apply protective coatings (such as grease or anti-corrosion preservatives) to tools using brushes or spray guns; securely attach identification tags or engrave identifying information using electric marking tools.

Qualifications:

• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
• Proven experience working in a tool crib, parts department, or industrial supply environment.
• Ability to visually inspect technical equipment and comfortably use measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to detect wear or damage.
• Strong organizational skills with a track record of maintaining accurate, digital, or manual inventory and logbooks.
• Ability to safely use basic hand tools, electric engraving tools, and spray equipment for tool preservation.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk throughout the industrial facility, and lift/unpack heavy parts and equipment.
