Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc is seeking a skilled machinist to verify dimensions, set up tools and fixtures, and operate precision machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders. You will read blueprints, apply shop mathematics, and ensure parts meet specifications.

The role requires Protrak experience and familiarity with Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, surface grinders, and EDM equipment. A trade school background and 6+ years of tool room experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work-piece as guides for subsequent machining
• Select, align, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant, flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit Computerized Machine Control media
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
• Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications
• Design tools, jigs, fixtures and templates to use as work aids
• Troubleshoot problems and recommend design changes regarding construction and function of molds and fixtures
• Keep work area clean and orderly
