Job summary

RSA Engineered Products LLC is seeking a Tool Maker III to perform engine lathe and milling machine operations across all phases of production. You will plan and execute bench and machine operations with a high degree of skill, constructing, altering, and assembling tooling as required from drawings and sketches.

The role requires 5-7+ years of experience in a machine shop, strong reading of blueprints, and solid math skills including trigonometry.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

In this position, the Tool Maker III must be capable of doing engine lathe and milling machineoperations for all phases of work performed. This occupation requires planning and performing all bench and machine operations (includingexperimental work) involving the highest degree of specialized skill andknowledge of tool building practice to construct, alter, and assemble.

• Builds, restores, and services a variety of tooling used in fabricationof rubber or metal parts on assemblies and generally, works from part of assembly drawings or sketches
• Utilizes all machines such as engine lathes, milling machines,machinist’s hand tools, precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics including trigonometry.
• Produce production parts per specifications and instructions orblueprints and operations sheets.
• Perform in quality and productivity to established standards.
• Must do production runs and tooling details as required and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MinimumEducation/Experience: 5-7 plus years’experience in operating various production machine shop equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such asblueprints, manufacturing planning (routers), safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnishedin written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involvingseveral concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use higher shop mathematics such as descriptive geometry andtrigonometry to figure compound angles, complex contours, and multiplecoordinated dimensions. Must be able to use a variety of precision measuring instruments for inspectionequipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, telescope gauges, indicators,height and depth gauges. Must have goodmechanical aptitude and be able to read and work from sketches. Must be able to readand understand written and verbal instructions. Conform to companysafety policies and procedures. Work in a teamenvironment. Ability to writeroutine reports and correspondence. Ability tocommunicate in the English language. Ability to applycommonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,or diagram form.

Essential Physical/ Mental Abilities Required: The employee is regularly required tostand, lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, walk, sit, talk or hear, climb anddismount both stairs and platforms. Employees must use their hands, handle orfeel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the individual occasionally works nearmoving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The Noise level is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the individual may be required to wearsafety protection gear. The pay range for this position is from$36.00 - $43.00 per hour.
