Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a Tool Engineer to lead tooling development for the THAAD program in a hybrid Arlington, TX environment. You will design, procure, and support tooling for production operations while interpreting complex technical data and drawings.

Proficiency with Pro-E/Creo/Windchill and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 is required, along with 5+ years in CAD and MS Office. Security clearance eligibility is a must.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen able to obtain secret clearance.
• Bachelor of Science in engineering or technical field.
• 5+ years of CAD experience (Pro-E/ Creo/ Windchill).
• 5+ years MS Office experience (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and technical data.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for the THAAD Program Tooling Team supporting production and development activities.
• Design, procure and support internal tooling for production operations.
• Interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and performance specifications.
• Use CAD systems (Pro-E, Creo, Windchill) for tool design and modeling.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to tooling design.
• Evaluate design activity and implement production process methods to safeguard velocity and quality.
• Analyze and resolve technical and process issues from basic to complex.
• Apply mechanical design, analysis and test experience to tooling solutions.
• Implement Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing for tooling applications.
• Apply knowledge of machining, welding and castings for tool fabrication.

Summary

• Serves as the technical lead for the THAAD Program Tooling Team supporting production and development activities related to tooling.
• Designs, procures, and supports internal manufacturing build of tooling for production operations.
• Interprets drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product and performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data.
• Uses Pro-E, Creo, and Windchill or other CAD systems for tool design and modeling.
• Applies Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5 for tooling design.
• Evaluates design activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality.
• Analyzes and resolves technical and process issues ranging from basic to very complex.
• Applies mechanical design, analysis, and test experience to tooling solutions.
• Implements Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing for tooling applications.
• Applies knowledge of machining, welding, and castings for tool fabrication and manufacturing.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• Bachelor of Science in an engineering or technical field.
• Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product and performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data.
• 5+ years of experience with Pro-E, Creo, or Windchill or other CAD system.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• 5+ years of experience with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: Experience with LM tooling, LM drawing release process, and LM Model Computer Aided Design (MCAD) process.
• Preferred: Experience with Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing.
• Preferred: Experience with SAP, LM Property Management, machining, welding, castings, and design for manufacturing.
