Job summary

Lippert is seeking a Tool & Die Specialist in Goshen, IN to fabricate, repair and troubleshoot tooling for manufacturing. You will read blueprints, set up machines, and maintain tooling to ensure production runs smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a Tool & Die apprenticeship and significant experience. A Journeyman's card and seven years of experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates and repairs machine tools using machining operations and measuring instruments.
  • Work from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tooling, dies, and jigs.
  • Assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot new and repair tooling.
  • Ensure parts and tooling meet instructions, prints, and work orders.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, lathes, and grinders.
  • Perform organizational duties and maintain a clean work area.
  • Welding and heat treating as needed.

Summary

This position is primarily responsible for fabricating, repairing and troubleshooting tooling or fixturing to support manufacturing operations.

Duties
  • Comply with established job safety practices, and procedures as specified by company policies.
  • Fabricates and repairs machine tools using machining operations and measuring instruments.
  • Work from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, and jigs.
  • Assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting new and repair tooling.
  • Ensures that parts and tooling are in accordance with instructions, prints, and work orders.
  • Proficient in the use of all shop equipment to maintain, and troubleshoot tooling.
  • Set up and operates machine tools, lathes, and grinders.
  • Maintain all assigned machines and equipment including preventative maintenance.
  • Perform organizational duties including maintaining an organized and clean work area.
  • Performs welding and heat treating as needed.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time position on 1st shift.
