Job summary

The Manufacturers' Association is seeking a skilled machinist/tooling professional to analyze specs, lay out stock, and set up/machine tools to fabricate and repair dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures. The role requires strong knowledge of tool and die design, shop math, and material properties.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, planning layouts, selecting machines, and ensuring parts meet specifications. Training ranges from 4 to 10 years; relocation package may be offered.

Qualifications

  • Between 4 and 10 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
  • Experience using GD&T and blueprints to plan machining operations.
  • Ability to set up and operate machine tools and verify parts to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Study specifications and blueprints to determine materials and machines.
  • Compute dimensions, plan layouts, and determine assembly methods.
  • Set up and operate machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders) and verify conformance to specs.
  • Calibrate and maintain personal tools and inspect parts.
  • Relocation package available.
