Responsibilities

• Assist Journeyman Tool & Die Makers with construction, repair, and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses under supervision.
• Gain experience operating CNC equipment and learn basics of machining and programming.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify dimensions.
• Assist with troubleshooting tooling and die issues to support production efficiency and quality.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tooling, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Participate in apprenticeship training, classroom instruction, and on-the-job learning opportunities.
• Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn manufacturing software and systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrollment in or completion of a technical program related to Manufacturing, Machining, Tool & Die, CNC, or Industrial Technology.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, or basic machining equipment.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
