Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a skilled tool, die, and gauge maker to perform bench and machine operations and repair highly complex tooling.

You will diagnose tool problems, work with tool engineers and designers, and use precision measuring instruments to ensure tight tolerances and proper heat-treatment effects are understood in manufacturing. This role is full-time, first shift, in the manufacturing field.

Qualifications

  • Five years of related experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and remedy tool difficulties.
  • Knowledge of heat treatment effects on metals.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform bench and machine operations to build, alter or repair dies, tools, gauges, fixtures or jigs.
  • Diagnose and remedy tool difficulties with Tool Engineers and Designers.
  • Operate precision equipment and read blueprints.
  • Understand the general effect of heat treatment on various metals.

Job description

  • Plans and perform a wide variety of bench and machine operations to build, alter or repair highly complicated dies, tools, gauges, fixtures or jigs, where accurate relationship, fitting or interchangeability of parts require maintenance of extremely close tolerances.
  • May be required to operate any type of tool room precision equipment working to required tolerances.
  • Must be able to diagnose and remedy tool difficulties working in conjunction with Tool Engineers and Designers.
  • Must have knowledge of all types of precision measuring instruments.
  • Must have the ability to devise new methods, develop new tools, lay out and plan a sequence of work.
  • Cuts, drills, files, shapes, fits and assembles parts with or without the use of blueprints.
  • Must understand the general effect of heat treatment on various metals.
