Job summary

PacAero is seeking a Tool & Die Maker in Kansas to build, repair, and maintain precision tooling, dies, fixtures, and components used in aerospace-grade production. The role emphasizes manual machining, blueprint reading, and problem solving to keep production running at peak quality.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams, perform milling, turning, and grinding, and support continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced precision environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Tool & Die Maker or in a similar tooling role.
• Strong manual machining skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Experience working to tight tolerances.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Build, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, fixtures, and precision components.
• Perform manual machining operations including milling, turning, and grinding.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues that affect production, quality, or uptime.
• Modify tooling to improve performance and longevity.
• Support press setup and die adjustments as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in the machine shop.

Qualifications:

Required

• Experience as a Tool & Die Maker or in a similar tooling role.
• Strong manual machining skills.

Preferred

• Progressive die experience.
• Multi-stage deep drawing experience.
• CNC experience.
• Experience in high-precision manufacturing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Availability for overtime as needed.
