Job summary

STEICO, a Steico Industries, Inc. company of Senior Plc, is seeking a Tool Designer to design assembly and shop tooling, create 2D CAD drawings, and support shop floor technical inquiries. The role focuses on cost reduction and maintaining tooling with rapid prototyping and conventional machining.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering or equivalent on the job training.
• 5 years tool design experience in a manufacturing environment using 2D and 3D modeling software.
• Must be fluent in English and able to communicate with employees at all levels.

Job Description

AM Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM

As a Tool Designer you will:

Perform design and tooling manufacturing activities within the tool design department and maintain tooling design conformity that meets or exceeds customer requirement. Perform design activity on assembly and shop tooling to be produced using conventional machining techniques as well as rapid prototyping. Supports the department and business as a whole with shop floor, planning, quality, and MRB activities.

Qualifications

Education:

Associate's degree in engineering or equivalent on the job training

Experience:

5 years tool design in a manufacturing environment using 2D and 3D modeling software

Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc:

• Rapid prototyping, CMM, hand inspection tools
• Must be able to communicate and interact with employees at all levels of the organization both verbally and written. Must be fluent in English
• Basic arithmetic, basic algebra and trigonometry
• CAD software, MS Word, MS Excel
• Requires high ability to assess facts and develop conclusion
• Solidworks or other equivalent CAD software preferred
