Job summary

American Axle & Mfg., Inc. is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant for the weekend shift to support Operations and Maintenance by maintaining stock levels, performing cycle counts, and conducting barcode tagging of materials.

The role partners with Maintenance, Facilities, Operations and Engineering to ensure uninterrupted tooling availability and identify cost-saving improvements. The ideal candidate will have an associates degree (preferred), 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred), and

Qualifications

• Associates Degree is preferred.
• 1 year manufacturing experience is preferred.
• SAP MRP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) procedures.
• Perform regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Barcode materials and locations of materials to allow for scanning.
• Support stock out issues and root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence
• Process mail shipments.
• Process repairs of spare parts or tools with timely vendor repair and shipping.
• Fill in for both plant locations and sometimes work on different shifts.
• Interface with Maintenance, Facilities, Operations and Engineering teams daily
• Identify and execute Continuous Improvement Projects.
• Identify cost savings with suppliers.
• Identify obsolete inventory assisting in resolutions.
• Responsible for invoice resolutions supporting Accounts Payable.
• Other duties as assigned within the Indirect Purchasing Scope.
• Communicate when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to the Manager.

Job Description Summary

Tool Crib Attendant will support Operations and Maintenance functions for Indirect Purchasing Commodities by maintaining Stock Levels through MRP Replenishment to Maximum Stock Levels, Cycle Counting, and Cost Reductions with Suppliers.

Job Description:

• Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) procedures.

• Fill in for both plant locations and at times work on different shifts.

• Identify cost savings with suppliers.
• Identify Obsolete Inventory assisting in resolutions.
