Job summary

Springtide in Malta, New York is seeking a Tool BOD Ramp Engineer to support semiconductor tool integration and ramp programs. You will review manuals, convert OEM requirements into owner-approved formats, and prepare design basis materials for installation readiness.

The role involves coordinating with tool owners, facilities, and vendors, tracking documentation, and improving templates and workflows for equipment integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field as listed.
• 3+ years in semiconductor facilities, tool installation, or factory integration.
• Experience interpreting OEM equipment manuals and utility requirement docs.
• Familiarity with cleanroom and sub-fab infra systems.
• Strong technical document development & coordination skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering document mgmt systems.

Responsibilities

• Review equipment manuals and vendor packages to extract facility requirements such as electrical loads, PCW, HVAC, and thermal data.
• Develop and maintain Facility Data Sheets; convert OEM utility requirements to owner-approved formats.
• Prepare Basis of Design documents specifying assumptions, operating criteria, redundancy, capacity, and diversity.
• Coordinate with tool owners, facilities, cleanroom designers, MEPs, vendors, and construction teams for routing, space, access, clashes, and hook-ups.
• Track engineering deliverables for tool release and installation readiness; maintain OEM docs, FDS, BOD approvals, and design sign-offs.
• Develop templates, standards, and workflows for equipment integration and central data databases.

Tool BOD Ramp Engineer

Location: Malta, New York. Position: Full-time on-site.

Responsibilities

• Review semiconductor equipment manuals, specifications, and vendor technical packages for completeness and constructability. Extract and validate facility requirements such as electrical loads, PCW, HVAC, and thermal load data. Identify missing, conflicting, or unclear information and coordinate resolution directly with tool vendors.
• Develop and maintain standardized Facility Data Sheets for semiconductor manufacturing tools and support equipment. Convert OEM utility requirements into owner-approved formats for facilities engineering, design teams, contractors, and procurement activities. Ensure all utility data aligns with corporate standards, site design criteria, and applicable codes.
• Prepare Basis of Design documentation supporting tool installation and facility integration. Define design assumptions, utility operating criteria, redundancy, capacity, and diversity requirements. Support consistency between tool requirements, infrastructure, and overall fab design strategy.
• Coordinate with tool owners, facilities, cleanroom designers, MEP firms, vendors, and construction teams. Support design reviews for routing feasibility, space, access, clashes, hook‑up readiness, and sequencing.
• Support semiconductor factory ramp activities by managing engineering deliverables required for tool release and installation readiness. Track OEM docs, FDS, BOD approvals, design sign‑offs, and utility milestones. Assist in developing standardized installation packages and engineering turnover processes.
• Develop and improve templates, standards, and workflows for equipment integration documentation. Drive consistency across tool types, vendors, and installation projects. Support development of centralized equipment requirement databases and lessons learned programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor facilities, tool installation, equipment engineering, or factory integration.
• Experience interpreting semiconductor OEM equipment manuals and utility requirement documentation.
• Familiarity with cleanroom and sub‑fab infrastructure systems.
• Strong technical document development and coordination skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering document management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with semiconductor equipment and process areas such as lithography, etch, deposition, CMP, implant, and metrology.
• Knowledge of semiconductor facility systems (process exhaust, gases, UPW, waste, HVAC, cleanroom airflow).
• Experience supporting tool hook‑up, tool install, or factory ramp programs.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination, AutoCAD, or layout review processes.
• Understanding of SEMI standards and applicable building/fire codes.

The salary offered for this role is between $88,000 and $117,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set and education.
