Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to analyze specifications, lay out stock, and setup, operate and program machine tools for fabricating tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. The role involves assembling parts, verifying dimensions, and maintaining production quality across shifts.

Responsibilities include performing quality checks, documenting results, and collaborating with engineers and supervisors to resolve machining and production challenges while adhering to safety

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safe workplace practices and TPM
  • Ability to read blueprints and models to determine materials and tooling
  • Experience with quality inspections and documentation and problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Analyze specifications and lay out material stock.
  • Set up, operate and program machine tools to fabricate parts.
  • Fit and assemble components into tools, dies and fixtures.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances and perform quality checks.
  • Communicate shift problems to team leaders and maintain production rate.
