Job description

Teaching Partner, 0 - 3

Location: Sandwich Montessori School – Cape Cod
Position Type: Full-Time

Work alongside experienced Montessori educators in small classroom environments while learning the craft of teaching. This role is designed for individuals who want to begin a meaningful career in education while developing their skills through mentorship and daily classroom experience.

Many of our strongest Teaching Partners are recent college graduates exploring long-term careers in education.

Join a School Where Educators Grow

At Sandwich Montessori School, we believe adults deserve the same thoughtful learning environment that children do.

Our classrooms are small, collaborative microschools where educators work closely together, develop their craft over time, and grow into long-term educational leaders. Sandwich Montessori School is part of a growing educational organization focused on building strong Montessori programs and supporting educators over the long term.

The Teaching Partner role is the entry point into this pathway.

Many of our strongest Teaching Partners are recent college graduates or early-career professionals who want meaningful work with children while continuing to grow as educators.

This role offers hands‑on classroom experience, mentorship from experienced Montessori educators, and a clear pathway toward leadership in education.

This position is ideal for someone who:

  • Loves working with children

  • Wants to grow into a strong educator

  • Values calm, organized environments

  • Is curious and committed to learning

What You’ll Do

Teaching Partners work alongside 0 - 3 Teacher Leaders to support calm, well‑prepared environments for children.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Montessori classroom routines and transitions

  • Helping prepare and maintain the classroom environment

  • Observing children and supporting their independence

  • Assisting with literacy routines and language‑rich interactions

  • Maintaining clear communication with the classroom team

  • Contributing to a culture of respect, order, and curiosity

Over time, Teaching Partners begin leading small routines and developing their own classroom skills.

What Success Looks Like in the First Year

A successful Teaching Partner at Sandwich Montessori School demonstrates steady growth in the following areas during the first year:

  • Calm emotional regulation with children, even during busy or challenging classroom moments.

  • Consistent reliability and punctuality, arriving prepared and ready to support the classroom each day.

  • Strong preparation of the environment, helping maintain an orderly, welcoming space that supports children’s independence.

  • Curiosity and commitment to learning, actively participating in Montessori training, coaching, and literacy development.

  • Positive collaboration with the classroom team, communicating clearly and contributing to a respectful and supportive environment.

Teaching Partners gradually take on more responsibility as their skills develop. Many Teaching Partners begin preparing for movement into the Teacher role during their first year as they demonstrate readiness for increased leadership in the classroom.
