Merryhill School in Sacramento is seeking a Toddler Teacher to nurture the growth, curiosity, and early development of our youngest learners. You will create secure, joyful spaces and deliver age-appropriate activities that build confidence and independence.

Responsibilities include planning sensory-rich curriculum, fostering daily routines, supporting family communication, and collaborating with fellow educators to align instructional practices with licensing standards.

Qualifications

• 12 sem. (18 qtr) units in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• Experience with toddlers in licensed child care preferred.
• Strong patience, nurturing instincts, and love for early learning.

• Foster a consistent and comforting daily routine that supports toddlers’ need for structure and security

• Collaborate with fellow early childhood educators and school leadership to ensure alignment in instructional practices and care standards
• Communicate daily with parents through verbal updates, digital reports, and informal check-ins
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment aligned with licensing standards and school policies

About the Role

As a Toddler Teacher at Merryhill School, you’ll play a central role in nurturing the growth, curiosity, and early development of our youngest learners. Toddlers thrive with structure, exploration, and warm, responsive caregiving—and your classroom will provide the secure, joyful spaces they need to build confidence and independence.

You will also:

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum focused on sensory exploration, early language, gross and fine motor development, and social-emotional growth

What We’re Looking For

• 12 semester (or 18 quarter) units in Early Childhood Education, including coursework in child development, curriculum, and family/community
• Experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care setting preferred
• Deep patience, nurturing instincts, and a genuine love for infants and early learning
• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with both children and families
• Reliable, collaborative, and committed to high-quality care and education
