Monday - Friday; 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.
Qualifications
- Associate teachers must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or qualify for the Child Development Teacher Permit; and have a minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education with 3 units of Infant/Toddler course. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Associate teachers are responsible for assisting the lead teacher in planning and implementing learning experiences for children ages 18 months to 30 months that advance the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children within a safe and healthy learning environment.
- They encourage the involvement of families and support the development of positive relationships between all members of the Piper community.
- Must be fluent in English.
Responsibilities
- Consistently participate in direct interaction with children, serve as faculty for professional development activities and community-based events, and be responsible for the items listed below and any others as assigned by members of the Administration.
- Report to members of Administration and Administrative Support Staff, as directed through the policies of this job description.
Skills
- Organization, professionalism, reading skills, time management, planning, oral and written communication skills, interpersonal relationships, family/child relations, and computer skills.
Physical Demands
- Crouch, crawl, stoop, or bend.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Frequently lift up to 35 pounds.
- Change diapers.
- The ability to react swiftly in an emergency situation.
Requirements
- 12 ECE units (B.A. or B.S. Preferred).
- 3 ECE units of Infant/Toddler.
- 1 Year Classroom Teaching Experience.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must have the ability to bend, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.
