Job summary

Ivy Kids LLC in Mission, Kansas is hiring a Lead Toddler Teacher to plan and implement the daily curriculum, supervise assistants, and maintain records. You will monitor ASQs, ensure safety, and communicate with families daily while modeling Conscious Discipline throughout the classroom.

You will work with a team to uphold Ivy Kids standards, coordinate with parents and staff, and keep a clean, organized learning space that supports healthy child development.

Qualifications

• Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
• Effective interaction and communication with children and parents.
• Lead teacher must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements the Ivy Kids curriculum activities.
• Keeps accurate and current records of each child’s developmental milestones, student accidents, anecdotal records, and attendance.
• Ensure ASQs are conducted on time.
• Provides daily communication to parents via the parent app.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Assists in training new staff and familiarizing them with program practices, forms, and schedules.
• Observes, records, and reports to the director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided.

Job Summary

As a Lead Toddler Teacher at Ivy Kids, you will be responsible for planning and implementing the daily curriculum for children in your classroom while creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. You will oversee and coordinate the children’s personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs, and positive guidance while practicing and modeling Conscious Discipline throughout the classroom. Day-to-day activities will include maintaining classroom records and developmental checklists, ensuring assessments and ASQs are completed on time, supervising and directing activities of assistant teachers assigned to the classroom, and keeping the classroom and play areas clean, organized, and safe. You will also communicate with parents daily regarding their child’s progress and keep the director informed on a timely basis of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families, and the program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

General

Health and Safety

• Understands and implements all Critical procedures and infant care procedures.
• Implements appropriate procedures in the event of an emergency
• Administers CPR/First aid if needed
• Properly maintains educational materials and equipment
• Ensures all sanitization procedures are followed as regulated by childcare licensing
• Keeps the classroom and other play areas safe, neat, and clean.
