Tennessee Department of Health in Nashville seeks a Public Health Program Director 1 on a FT contract. The role collaborates with program staff to implement evidence-based tobacco prevention strategies targeting youth and young adults.

The position is hybrid, with in-person onboarding in Nashville, TN, and remote work flexibility as needs allow. Experience in public health and education is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in health education, biology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public health, education, or related field.
• Able to complete and prioritize tasks while working remotely.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and implement evidence-based programs/initiatives to address tobacco prevention among youth and young adults.
• Assist and support schools with the implementation of tobacco prevention and cessation initiatives.
• Work with the tobacco team to plan and implement youth engagement trainings for tobacco prevention.
• Participate in regular trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to tobacco prevention and control and the FHW division.
• Develop and maintain cooperative, collaborative, working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives.
• Updates and uses relevant knowledge to support the implementation of health education interventions and programs for the community.
• Identifies the educational needs of others, supports program staff in the development of educational training programs or classes, and teaches and instructs others.
• Assists with the design and delivery of relevant training programs for health department employees, teachers, and other professionals
• Prepare and distribute program materials to internal and external stakeholders that conduct tobacco prevention programs.
