Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking personnel to maintain and calibrate Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and precision instruments. You will work as part of a precision instruments maintenance team to ensure accuracy of equipment used to diagnose problems.

Responsibilities include repairing weapon-aiming devices, transits, levels, gyrocompasses, and other instruments. Training is provided, with potential civilian career paths after service.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with blueprints or schematics is advantageous.
• Interest in mathematics, science, electronics, and shop mechanics is helpful.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems using hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Adjust and repair weapon-aiming devices and precision instruments.
• Repair and calibrate engineering instruments and timing devices.
• Maintain and calibrate gyrocompasses and related timing equipment.
