Qualifications

  • BS in technical field, supply chain, operations, engineering or related with 10+ years in a management/leadership role.
  • Minimum of 15 years directly related experience in product or process management within a manufacturing environment.
  • MRP/ERP systems expertise including implementation, optimization, and process integration.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to balance long-term objectives and immediate operational requirements.
  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Aerospace experience and APICS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site's planning, materials control, and materials support activities in alignment with the Site GM and OpCo leadership.
  • Oversee ERP system performance, functionality, and continuous improvement.
  • Possibly oversee site-level purchasing and supplier coordination as needed.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Procurement to align materials and planning with business objectives.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Material Planning and Control to lead the planning and inventory management functions at our Valencia site. Reporting directly to the Site General Manager, this position is a key member of the site leadership team and plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, on-time delivery and cost performance.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading the site's planning and inventory management organization including primary oversight of the ERP system's performance, functionality, and continuous improvement. This leader will ensure that planning and inventory processes effectively support the business while driving improvements in efficiency, responsiveness, and overall supply chain performance.

At the discretion of the General Manager, this position may also have responsibility for all or part of the site-level purchasing function, including supplier coordination and procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the site's planning, materials control, and materials support activities, in alignment with the Site General Manager (GM) and OpCo leadership team
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve processes and procedures that ensure the effectiveness of planning, inventory control functions, including
  • master scheduling
  • Kan Ban systems
  • Shop-floor throughput/scheduling
  • Capacity planning
  • Production scheduling
  • Establish priorities, provide direction, and ensure accountability for functional managers and their respective teams.
  • Champions business process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall site performance.
  • Establish, monitor, and utilize KPIs and performance metrics to measure team effectiveness and drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with Site Leadership Team to establish, communicate, and execute site level strategic and operational objectives, including:
  • Annual budgets and business planning
  • Establish and enforcement of site-level policies, procedures, and operational practices
  • Achievement of operational and financial performance objectives.
  • Customer satisfaction, product quality, and on-time delivery performance.
  • SIOP
  • Serve as strategic adjunct to Site General Manager, supporting broader site leadership responsibilities and developing a strong succession trajectory for future leadership opportunities.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Procurement, and other disciplines to ensure alignment of materials and planning activities with overall business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in a technical field, business, supply chain, operations, engineering or related discipline, with a minimum of 10+ years progressive professional experience, including significant experience in a management or leadership position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant professional experience in a management or leadership position may be accepted in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 15 years directly related experience in product or process management within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Demonstrated expertise with MRP/ERP systems, including experience with system functionality, implementation, optimization, and process integration.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and while executing tactically, balancing long-term business objectives with immediate operational requirements.
  • Expert level of Microsoft Office competencies with strong Excel knowledge
  • Strong leadership communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to solve problems effectively under constraints and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and balance operational financial, quality, inventory, and customer delivery objectives.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement, and hold teams accountable for measurable results.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Aerospace industry experience required
  • APICS certification strongly preferred

Salary: $127,200 - 185,000 plus bonus
