Qualifications

• 60 college credit hours completed, or
• ParaPro Assessment passed before Sep 23, 2013, or
• Paraprofessional Assessment through Pearson (Sep 23, 2013–Jun 20, 2024), or
• ParaPro Assessment through ETS (Jul 1, 2024–Jun 30, 2026), or
• ParaPathways Assessment through ETS (Jul 1, 2026 forward)
• Completed the 20HR Substitute Certificate Course

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate communication and collaboration with the teaching team
• Implement instructional strategies developed for students
• Perform duties to support skills being learned
• Reinforce or reteach skills under teacher direction
• Provide support to meet students' educational, behavioral, and physical needs
• Prepare for classroom instruction (grading, taking attendance)
• Apply a variety of effective teaching techniques to meet individualized needs
• Implement preventative behavior strategies and interventions
• Teach behavior-related skills to individuals and small groups
• Accommodate individual differences and model classroom management
• Respond to student needs and remove barriers to learning
• Assist with modifications and accommodations in the classroom
• Carry out other duties as assigned
