Job summary

Central York School District recruits a Title I Instructional Assistant for North Hills Elementary School to support reading and math interventions in small groups or one-on-one settings. The role partners with teachers and the reading specialist to monitor progress and provide targeted practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Possess an associate's degree or higher or have completed two years of post-secondary study (48 college credits).
• Demonstrate satisfactory performance on the local assessment.
• Must have organized work habits and good communication skills; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to Title I students in developing reading and math strategies.
• Assist teachers and the reading specialist in monitoring student progress.
• Maintain a learning environment conducive to reading and math interventions.
• Develop and prepare instructional materials as directed by the reading specialist.
• Maintain inventory and duplication of Title I resources and materials.
• Help track Title I records and compliance documentation.
• Support the Reading Specialist and classroom teacher with targeted, one-on-one or small-group instruction.
• Contribute to a positive classroom climate that fosters respect and self-esteem.
• Report potential issues to the teacher and participate in building-level projects as assigned.
