Job summary

WILLIAM Marvin Bass Elementary School is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Title I to support teachers and assist students in achieving learning goals. The role involves small-group coaching, monitored independent activities, and helping with routine classroom operations to maintain an orderly learning environment.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and may possess 60 college credits or an associate degree; ParaPro assessment completion is also acceptable.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional experience preferred.
• Ability to support instructional objectives in classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Assists classroom teacher in performing duties to achieve instructional objectives.
• Works with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Provides programmed practice activities and repetitions as developed by teacher.
• Assists with large and small group activities.
• Guides independent study and other work assigned by teacher.
• Reports student problems to the teacher and assists with student problems.
• Supervises students during lunch, recess and transitions.
• Assists with establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.
• Helps protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Supports policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
