Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is seeking a Gear Grind Machinist for the night shift. You will operate CNC gear grind machines, set up jobs, and inspect first parts to ensure quality per drawings and department procedures.

The role requires 2+ years of Gear Grind experience, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with gear terminology. Proficiency with KAPP, Hofler, Klingelnberg equipment is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Post-secondary CNC related certificate or degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Gear Grind operations
• Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints/manufacturing specifications
• Thorough understanding of production equipment or ability to learn quickly
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Gear Grind Equipment (KAPP, Hofler, Klingelnberg)
• Set-up multiple types of jobs per travelers
• Read and apply information from engineering drawings
• Perform basic maintenance of CNC gear grind machines
• Conduct first part quality inspections

Gear Grind Machinist - Night Shift

Location: Macomb, MI, US, 48042

Job Summary

The Gear Grind Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of Gear Grind machines in the Gear Grind Department. The Machinist must produce high‑quality products according to the Triumph Gear Systems Gear Grind Department operations manual.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
• Read, interpret, and apply information from engineering drawings
• Adhere to job plans per job travelers
• Set‑up multiple types of jobs
• Operate CNC Gear Grind Equipment (using CBN form wheels & dressable grit wheels)
• Perform basic maintenance of CNC gear grind machines (KAPP, Hofler, Klingelnberg)
• First part quality inspections
• Use precision measurement equipment (micrometers, MBW & MOW checks)
• Consistently produce quality parts (understanding of gear terminology: LEAD, SPACING, PROFILE, etc.)
• Follow directions of direct supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Physical ability to operate and repair machines
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, or stretching
• Work may require bending, carrying, lifting up to 25 pounds, pulling, pushing, and standing
