Job summary

TRIUMPH Mexicali is seeking a CMM Inspector located in Park City, UT. The ideal candidate will operate Coordinate Measuring Systems to inspect products and ensure compliance with aerospace standards. Job description

CMM Inspector

Location: Park City, UT

Business Unit: Systems and Support

Function: Quality

Responsibilities
  • Operate CMS (Coordinate Measuring System) such as a CMM to dimensionally inspect product
  • Read and interpret aerospace manufacturing drawings/models – including tolerances, customer specifications, and technical requirements
  • Inspect purchased and internally manufactured parts for conformance to purchase order, drawing/model, and specification requirements
  • Apply GD&T in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 with tolerance up to .xxxxxx places
  • Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections per work instructions
  • Work from engineering drawings, models, internal/external specifications, QA standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine product acceptance
  • Document product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing order, process any necessary rejection documentation, and perform various ERP system functions
  • Program CMMs for parts so future measurements can be performed easily
  • Perform final quality inspections for parts to be shipped to customers; the preferred candidate will also perform DSQR Designated Source Quality representative roles for customers
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in quality assurance (3–5 years preferred)
  • Documented training in blueprint reading, precision measurements, and applied math
  • On-the-job experience with reading aerospace blueprints and using precision measuring instruments
  • Working knowledge of aerospace products and production/assembly processes
  • Proficient with researching, interpreting, and applying customer specifications and work instructions or procedures
  • General knowledge of CREO, SOLIDWORKS, and CATIA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with measure Calypso, PC DIMIS, or other CMM programming software
  • Experience with model-based software like CREO is a plus
  • Certified to AS13001 is a plus
  • General knowledge of CREO, SOLIDWORKS, and CATIA
