Recovery Supervisor – St. Louis & Springfield, IL Territories

Position Purpose
The Recovery Supervisor oversees daily recovery operations, supervises Recovery Technicians, andensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. In partnership with Recovery leadership, this role supports staff development, process improvements, team training, and a positive, mission-driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Complete ocular tissue procurements, including donor history review, assessments, blood collection, tissue recovery, and accurate documentation in the eye bank database.
- Train and onboard new recovery technicians through shadowing and hands-on training in ocular tissueprocurement procedures while maintaining designated trainer competency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for daily operational issues and technician support across the territory, including participation in the AdministratorOnCall (AOC) rotations for both Technician Logistics and Donor Logistics to provide after-hours operational support as needed.
- Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EBAA, FDA,HIPAAand all federal and state regulations, including completion of annual competency reviews.
- Support quality and compliance through timely QA reporting, investigations and accurate operational documentation.
- Develop andmaintainstaff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and manage employee timekeeping, attendance, time sheet approval, and PTO monitoring.
- Leadmonthlyteammeetings,and routine one-on-one(O3) meetings with recovery technicians.
- Partner with the Recovery Manager on providing input on performance feedback, recognition, and corrective actions.
- PartnerwithHumanResourcesandmanagementtosupportrecruitment,interviewing,andonboardingofnewteammembers.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, leadership, and externalpartners.
- Maintainadequatesupplyinventoryforoperationalneeds.
- Ensure facility equipment and company vehicles are used properly andmaintainedin good workingorder.

Basic Requirements
- Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.
- Mustmaintainavalid driver's license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record asdeterminedby the organization.
- Musthavereliabletransportation.
- Required to have ayearly influenzavaccination.
- Completion ofHepatitis Bvaccination, or documented declination isrequiredbefore performing duties.
Preferred Requirements
- Medicalorbiological science background preferred, including familiarity with medicalterminology.
- Supervisory experience including demonstrated coaching, employee development, and trainingexperience.
- Thorough knowledge of aseptictechniqueand best practices formaintainingsterility in controlled environments.
- Stronginterpersonal,written,verbal,andphonecommunicationskills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and safelyoperatea vehicle forextended periods in various conditions, including long-distances, nighttime, and inclement weather.
- Frequentperiodsofintenseconcentration,attentiontodetailandaccuracy.
- Abilitytoperformtasksrequiringprolongeduseofprintedmaterialsandcomputerscreens.
- Abilitytoperformdelicatemanualprocedureswithahighdegreeofdexterity.
- Longperiodsofsittingand/orstandingrequired.
- Ability to lift and position a donor following safety techniques.
- Lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Mayrequireoccasionaluseofstairstoaccessworkareasorfacilities.
Working Environment
- Work is performed in multiple environments, including normal office settings, hospitals (ICU, inpatient units, operating rooms, morgue), funeral homes or mortuaries, and medical examinerfacilities.
- Requirestravelthroughouttheserviceregion,includingdrivingtootherlocations.
- Mustmaintainflexibility for24-houroperations, including on-callcoverage during day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, with occasional work beyond scheduled hours.
- Thescheduleisbasedonthebusinessneedsofthelocation which can include 12-hour call shifts.
