Job summary

Waukegan Tire is seeking a Tire Technician to join our results-driven team. You will mount, dismount, balance, and rotate tires, perform oil changes, and assist with TPMS sensors, aiming for fast, accurate service.

We offer competitive hourly pay with commission and overtime, plus benefits including paid vacation, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and ASE reimbursement. This role supports growth into additional mechanical duties as skills develop.

Qualifications

  • Tire/lube or automotive service experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-first attitude.
  • Detail-oriented, safety-minded, and eager to grow.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Physically able to lift 70 lbs and work on your feet.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, since that’s when our guests rely on us most.

Responsibilities

  • Mount, dismount, balance, and rotate tires
  • Repair flats and inflate to spec
  • Test, replace, register, and reset TPMS sensors
  • Perform oil changes and replace filters
  • Conduct visual inspections and document issues
  • Test and install batteries
  • Stock inventory and maintain shop cleanliness and safety standards
  • Work with your team to deliver fast, accurate, elite service
  • Opportunity to progress into light mechanical services (brakes, suspension, alignments) as skills and experience allow
