Border Tire in Fontana, CA is hiring Tire Technicians to service truck and trailer tires and ensure safe operation. Responsibilities include tire inspection, mounting/dismounting, repairs, wheel balancing, and maintaining inventory.

Role requires 18+, valid driver’s license with clean MVR, and 2+ years of commercial tire experience. This is a full-time position with benefits and potential after-hours road calls.

Qualifications

• Must have commercial tire experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR record.
• Must be a self-starter and be willing to take initiative.
• Willing and able to work without direct supervision.
• 2+ years related experience in the commercial tire industry.
• Must have strong mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspects truck/trailer tires for wear, bulges, cuts, and damaged tread.
• Repair tires with minor malfunctions.
• Properly secure vehicle to lift to ensure safe operation.
• Unbolt wheels from vehicles and remove them, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
• Dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on the vehicle.
• Repair or replace tires on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
• Install wheels and tires, balancing wheels, and check for correct fit.
• Maintain inventories and tire equipment.
• Reassemble tires onto wheels.
• Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting.
• Dispose of damaged/old tires per state regulations.
• Ensure tires are functioning properly and in compliance with DOT and OSHA.
• Safely operate all tools and equipment.
• Report safety issues to management.
• Keep shop area neat and clean.
• Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Other duties may be assigned.
