Job summary

Saia Motor Freight Line LLC is seeking a Tire Mechanic in Fort Worth, TX to install and inspect tires and rims on class 6–8 trucks and trailers. You will remove and mount tires, use hydraulic jacks, inspect inflation, and dispose of old tires according to regulations.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are authorized to work in the United States, and can read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Repair tires outside the facility using a service truck.
• Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Dispose of old tires per environmental regulations.

It's all here and it’s exactly what going further is all about.Position SummarySupports the fleet maintenance operations by installing and inspecting tires and rims on tractor-trailers.Major Tasks and ResponsibilitiesRemoves and installs tire and rim assemblies from class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, trailers, and converter dollies.Uses hydraulic jacks and stands to gain access to the unit and replace tire assemblies.Operates, lifts, moves, and stores specialized equipment to maintain, inspect, and repair tires or rims.Repairs tires outside the maintenance facility utilizing a service truck.Inspects tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.Disposes of old tires in compliance with environmental regulations.Mounts and dismounts tires or rims using specialized tire machines.Minimum QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age.High school diploma or GED.Authorized to work in the United States.Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public; understand oral and written instructions as well as governmental regulations; respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives; and accurately review and complete various documents, reports and records required of the position.Preferred Qualifications2 years of tire mechanic experience.Proficiency in diagnostic software.Work Conditions and Physical DemandsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of tools, parts, and equipment up to 100 pounds.Regular use of hands and arms for handling tools, reaching overhead, and working in tight spaces.Ability to climb on, under, and around large trucks and equipment safely.Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read gauges, manuals, and perform detailed inspections.Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to detect equipment sounds, communicate, and follow safety signals.Pay Rate: $26.55 - $30.30 per hour, based on experienceBenefitsAt Saia, your success is our success!
