Job summary
Meckfessel Tire is seeking a General Service & Oil Change Technician to join our hands-on, family-owned automotive and tire shop in Belleville. You will perform oil changes, tire mounting/balancing, inspections, and various preventative maintenance, while documenting findings clearly for service advisors.
The ideal candidate has automotive repair experience, tire service knowledge, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of automotive repair/service experience.
- Experience with tire changing and tire service required.
- Knowledge of automotive mechanical and electronic systems.
- Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to pursue ASE certifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and other preventative maintenance.
- Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires.
- Perform basic automotive maintenance and general service repairs.
- Inspect vehicles and complete thorough digital vehicle inspections.
- Identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential repairs.
- Document findings and recommendations clearly on vehicle inspections.
- Review work orders and communicate with service advisors as needed.
- Use shop equipment, diagnostic tools, tire equipment, and other automotive equipment safely and efficiently.
