Job summary

Northland Automotive in Rockford, MI is seeking a Tire and Lube Technician to join our full-service auto shop. You will perform oil changes, tire installations, inspections, and maintenance tasks while upholding safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of tire or lube experience, MI state certifications, a high school diploma, and a team-focused, communicative approach; training and benefits provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine oil and oil filter changes
• Inspect and top off automotive fluids
• Replace air/cabin filters and windshield wipers
• Restock and maintain inventory levels on the shop floor
• Maintain the store organization and cleanliness
• Provide service inspections on all vehicles
• Inspect tires on vehicles before and after installation
• Perform tire rotations, balancing and other maintenance tasks
• Follow all safety protocols while working in the shop
• Work as part of a team to troubleshoot customer concerns quickly and effectively
• Follow and promote our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization
• Work closely with the service department and effectively communicate customer concerns

We are looking for a Tire and Lube Technician to add to our Rockford location.

Responsibilities:

Perform engine oil and oil filter changes

Inspect and top off automotive fluids

Replace air/cabin filters and windshield wipers

Restock and maintain inventory levels on the shop floor

Maintain the store organization and cleanliness

Provide service inspections on all vehicles

Inspect tires on vehicles before and after installation

Perform tire rotations, balancing and other maintenance tasks

Requirements:

Positive attitude and a desire to serve customers

Proven work experience as a Tire Technician, Lube Technician or similar role, for minimum of 3 year

Some professional experience removing and installing tires preferred

Team player to work with other team members

Attention to detail to install tires properly and provide oil changes

A high school diploma or equivalent

MI state certifications required

Capable of diagnosing and repairing all makes/models of vehicles

Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes

Professional appearance and strong communication

A desire for long-term career development
