Job Overview

Timekeeper/Scorekeeper/Announcer/Chaperone for Briarcliff High School Athletics for the 26-27 season.

Responsibilities

• Operate game clock and ensure accurate timekeeping throughout athletic events.
• Coordinate with referees and other officials to maintain game flow.
• Maintain the official scorebook or scoreboard for games.
• Accurately record game statistics and communicate with coaching staff and referees.
• Provide live commentary and announcements during games.
• Introduce teams, announce scores, and read scripted messages.
• Supervise students and spectators during home games and events.
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and sportsmanlike environment in the stands and surrounding areas.
• Serve as a liaison between event staff, school administrators, and security if needed.
• Remain visible and approachable throughout the event.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience (preferred but not required – training will be provided).

Commitment

• After-school hours and occasional weekend availability required.
• Seasonal commitment based on sports schedules.

Reports To

The athletic director, in conjunction with high school principals.

Salary

$78 per Varsity event, $47 per JV/Modified event. Football timekeeping is paid at $88; chaperone $75 per five hours in-district; $90 per five hours out of district.
