Job summary

Dal-Tile is seeking a Material Handler in Dickson, TN to move product, operate forklifts, and support warehouse operations. The role involves lifting 50-70 pounds, standing and walking throughout shifts, and complying with safety rules.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–11:00pm with possible overtime and Saturdays. Primary duties include picking orders, conveying to packing/shipping, and performing receiving and stock checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
• 1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience. Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience.
• No experience required for pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Operate and pick customer orders using powered industrial trucks and convey orders to packing/shipping areas.
• Perform outbound order checks for accuracy and completeness; conduct inventory stock checks.
• Restock and label vendor products; maintain displays and organize materials.
• Conduct receiving duties including unloading inbound material and processing shipments.
• Maintain a clean, safe facility; follow Safety Program and report hazards.

Looking for a job that keeps you active? Our Material Handlers spend their days moving product, operating equipment, and staying physically engaged in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires lifting products weighing 50-70 pounds.

Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm, with possible overtime and occasional Saturday work.

Primary Objective

Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.

Major Function and Scope

Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.

Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.

Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.

Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.

Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required

High School diploma or equivalent experience; Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator

1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience. Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience. No experience required for pallet jack.

Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak basic English. Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner. Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The aver number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
