Job summary

Core Industrial Maintenance is seeking experienced TIG welders with a strong background in stainless steel pipe welding for industrial maintenance, fabrication, installation, and outage work.

Expect to perform high-quality TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel pipe, read blueprints and weld symbols, and work in multiple positions during outages and shutdowns. Osha 10 and ability to pass stainless pipe weld tests may be required.

Qualifications

• Industrial TIG pipe welding experience required.
• Experience welding stainless steel pipe to project specs.
• Ability to pass TIG stainless pipe weld test when required.
• Knowledge of pipe diameter and schedule.
• Read blueprints, drawings, weld symbols and isometrics.
• Must be able to work extended hours during outages.
• Osha 10 certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel pipe.
• Fit, prep, and weld stainless piping according to drawings, specifications, and field measurements.
• Perform open-root and full-penetration pipe welds.
• Purging of stainless pipe when required.
• Weld pipe in multiple positions (2G, 5G, 6G).
• Read blueprints and weld symbols; interpret isometrics.
• Measure, cut, bevel, fit, and prepare pipe for welding.
• Inspect welds for quality and fix defects.
• Assist with pipe installation and other maintenance duties.
• Follow safety procedures on jobsite and facility.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean.

Core Industrial Maintenance is seeking experienced TIG Welders with a strong background in stainless steel pipe welding for industrial maintenance, fabrication, installation, and outage work.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel pipe
• Fit, prep, and weld stainless piping according to drawings, specifications, and field measurements
• Perform open-root and full-penetration pipe welds
• Properly purge stainless steel pipe during welding when required
• Weld pipe in multiple positions, including 2G, 5G, and 6G
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and isometric piping drawings
• Measure, cut, bevel, fit, and prepare pipe for welding
• Inspect completed welds for quality and correct defects when necessary
• Assist with pipe installation, fabrication, and other industrial maintenance duties as needed
• Follow all jobsite and facility safety procedures
• Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean and organized

Requirements

Qualifications

• Previous industrial TIG pipe welding experience required
• Strong experience welding stainless steel pipe
• Must be able to produce clean, consistent welds that meet project specifications
• Experience with schedule pipe and various pipe diameters
• Ability to pass a TIG stainless pipe weld test prior to placement when required
• Knowledge of proper stainless preparation, cleanliness, heat control, and purging procedures
• Ability to read a tape measure and accurately perform pipe layout and fitting
• Must be able to work independently and as part of an industrial maintenance crew
• Must be dependable and able to work extended hours during outages and shutdowns
