Job summary

The Salvation Army in Superior, Wisconsin is seeking a store associate to accept and evaluate donations, stock and price merchandise, operate the cash register, and assist customers on the sales floor.

You will help maintain clean donation areas, arrange displays, unload donations from trucks, and contribute to a safe, welcoming shopping environment. Retail experience is preferred; diverse background encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Ability to provide courteous customer service.
• Ability to unload donations and assist with store operations.

About The Role

• Accepts and evaluates donations for resale suitability. Ensures quality of inventory by adhering to merchandise standards when accepting donations.
• Maintains donation area cleanliness through the store’s business hours.
• Cleans, prices and display merchandise.
• Arranges merchandise displays throughout the store as assigned.
• Operates cash register, assists with sales transaction and with the reconciliation of daily cash receipts.
• Answers phone lines and provides customer service.
• Assists customers on the sales floor and suggest sales when appropriate.
• Builds positive donor relations by providing information regarding use of donations.
• Actively supports a team environment among store associates.
• Ensures a safe work environment by keeping aisles and other areas clear of debris.
• Unloads donations from truck.

Experience: Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred.
