Job summary

Coalfire is seeking a Detection and Response Engineer to join its Defensive Services team in a role focused on SIEM monitoring, threat hunting, and proactive defense. You will develop detection logic across multiple SIEMs, tune alerts for fidelity, and drive efficiency in runbooks and dashboards.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of enterprise security experience, hands-on SIEM exposure, cloud telemetry knowledge, and strong communication skills within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating in large enterprise security environments.
• Hands-on with multiple SIEM platforms in a production setting.
• Strong threat hunting and incident response capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and operationalize threat intelligence to guide threat hunting and detections.
• Develop and tune detection queries across SIEM platforms and build dashboards for repeatable use cases.
• Lead threat hunts, identify gaps, and translate findings into improvements and runbooks.
