Job summary

Braintrust is seeking a Detection and Response engineer to design and build systems that identify, analyze, and eradicate threats across the Braintrust stack. You’ll lead incident response, run on-call, and implement real-time threat intelligence to protect production environments.

You’ll develop security telemetry pipelines across ECS/K8s, CI/CD, identity systems, endpoints, and agent workloads, while improving detections for attacks, abuse, and anomalous behavior.

Qualifications

• Proficient in backend languages (Python/TypeScript/Go) and security concepts.
• Experience designing and operating detection & response systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build security telemetry pipelines across cloud environments and CI/CD.
• Continuously improve detections for attacks and anomalies.
• Own the alert pipeline end-to-end and manage signal-to-noise ratio.
• Lead incident response, participate in on-call, and write postmortems.
• Hunt for threats and develop new detections from evidence.
• Develop agents to triage alerts and gather evidence with human-in-the-loop controls.
• Oversee vulnerability response and remediation across infrastructure.
