Job summary

FlexStaff is seeking a Physician Assistant with Thoracic Surgery experience for rounding. Availability for 2-3 shifts Monday-Friday and/or Weekend days is required.

The PA will take histories, perform exams, write orders for meds and tests, participate in daily patient rounds, and coordinate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure high-quality care and proper discharge planning. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NY PA license.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Take initial patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Initiate, document, and communicate the plan of care and follow up.
• Perform daily patient rounds.
• Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
• Interpret laboratory and test results.
• Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure quality patient care.
• Discharge planning: notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Inform patients of post-discharge care instructions.
