Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join the Thoracic Surgery team, with responsibilities across inpatient care and multidisciplinary coordination. This full-time role offers exposure to high-acuity surgical settings and hospital-based medical care.

The PA will provide comprehensive care from preoperative evaluation to postoperative ICU management, participate in MDT meetings, and educate patients and families on procedures and recovery expectations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited PA program with NCCPA certification.
  • Active state PA license and prescriptive authority.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a surgical or hospital-based acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for thoracic patients from assessment to postoperative ICU care.
  • Assist in diagnosis and surgical management of thoracic diseases including lung cancer and esophageal pathology.
  • Perform or assist in thoracic procedures such as thoracotomy and VATS; manage ICU patients and ventilation.
