Capital Medical Group in Washington, DC, seeks a highly qualified Thoracic Surgeon to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care within an academic medical setting.

The position emphasizes evaluation, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and ongoing management of thoracic diseases, with teaching responsibilities and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Successful completion of an accredited residency and fellowship in thoracic surgery.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Thoracic Surgery.
  • Current or eligible unrestricted medical license where services will be provided.
  • Ability to participate in call coverage and credentialing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient thoracic surgical care.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for thoracic diseases.
  • Perform surgical procedures in line with standards and policies.
  • Conduct preoperative evaluations, postoperative visits, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate care with referring physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in tumor boards, case reviews, and academic activities.
